And Your Fastest Val di Sole Qualifiers Are…

While there may be no points on offer for qualifying, being the fastest is nothing but a confidence boost for Val di Sole finals.

Here’s who tamed the Black Snake to take the qualifying kudos in Val di Sole.

Junior Women

She might well have settled for second in Les Gets but Gracey Hemstreet is on another level here in Val di Sole. A full sixteen seconds ahead of Valentina Roa Sanchez who was a whisker ahead of Izabela Yankova. She’d have been 6th in Elite Women. It looks like the Bulgarian may have had issues in her run as she was 0.655 up at split one.

Interestingly, Phoebe Gale DNF’d. Disastrous run or breaking the beam for the main event tomorrow?

Junior Men

Fuelled by some fresh Rainbow Stripes, Madison Saracen’s Jordan Williams put 3.7 seconds into Jackson Goldstone. Hard to tell if the Syndicate man was cruising to save energy for finals or not… These two are streets ahead of the rest with Ryan Pinkerton rounding out the top three, some fifteen seconds back. The front two Juniors would have gone 1st and 3rd in Elite Men.

Elite Women

Vali Hoell goes fastest with a 4:31, some four seconds up on Monika Hrastnik, with Eleonora Farina some ten back in third. Hoffmana and Nicole are way off the pace but may just have cruised to save the beans for tomorrow.

Elite Men

Continental Atherton’s Andreas Kolb takes the quali win by 1.9 over Loris Vergier with Dak Norton closing out the top three some five back on the Austrian.

We’d expect plenty of these guys to ramp it up tomorrow as it’s all 250 points on offer.

Interestingly, Finn Iles DNS’d so won’t start tomorrow, meaning the World Cup overall goes to Amaury Pierron.
