Not good news for the big Commencal unit Amaury Pierron as he suffered a complicated C5 fracture in practice at Lenzerheide.
Watch the FullAttack video below for the full skinny with Commencal-Muc Off team manager Thibaut Ruffin.
The news isn’t good, less so from Amaury’s recovery but from what it seems, how the injury was detected. Amaury raced qualifying having been checked out by “several people”. According to Ruffin, no one thought the injury would be this serious. A later scan on the team’s initiative showed a complicated C5 fracture that was operated on during the Monday after the race to bridge the C4 and C6 vertebrae. It’s an hour’s round trip to the nearest hospital in Chur…
Most importantly, we wish Amaury a speedy return to full health.
