The Women in the Bike Industry Summit will return to the Tweed Valley in 2025, with organisers confirming exciting plans to grow the event and expand its impact across the sector. Taking place on the 7th and 8th of November at the Memorial Hall in Innerleithen, with a range of exciting sessions just a stone’s throw away from where work has started on the new Mountain Bike Innovation Centre.

Hosted by Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS), in partnership with South of Scotland Enterprise, the Summit will once again bring together women from across the cycling and adventure sports industries, or aspiring to be involved in the industry, for two days of inspiration, skills development, and industry collaboration in Scotland’s premier mountain biking destination. This event is just one example of the initiatives and support that the new MTB Innovation Centre will enable in the South of Scotland for local and UK wide participants in the coming years.

Colena Cotter, Communications and Business Development Manager, Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland said:

“The Women in the Bike Industry Summit is about more than an event – it’s about creating opportunities, visibility, and pathways for women right across our sector. After the overwhelming success of the inaugural Summit, we’re excited to return to the Tweed Valley in 2025 with an even bigger programme that celebrates innovation, inspires leadership, and delivers real benefits to local businesses and communities. With the support of partners like SOSE, we can position the South of Scotland as a leader in inclusive, industry-focused development and ensure women are at the forefront of shaping the future of cycling.”

The event will feature a larger venue to accommodate more delegates, a programme of workshops, panel sessions, and networking opportunities, and thematic strands focusing on:

Fox Rampage RS Leader
  • Business & Innovation
  • Practical Skills & Digital Media
  • Inspiration & Community

High-profile speakers include Lyn Mutch (Noodle Horse Media), Manon Carpenter, and Kate Mason. Each brings a unique perspective and depth of experience from across the cycling and media landscape. From Lynn’s expertise in storytelling and digital engagement, to Manon’s journey from World Champion rider to mountain bike and environmental advocacy, and Kate’s trailblazing work as a sports journalist and presenter with the UCI MTB World Series — these inspiring women will share their insights, experiences, and advice on shaping a more inclusive, creative, and forward-thinking bike industry.

Feedback from delegates, speakers, and partners was unanimous in calling for the event to return in 2025.

The Summit’s aims are to:

  • Strengthen the community of women in the bike industry
  • Highlight career pathways and business opportunities
  • Showcase the role of the Mountain Bike Innovation Centre and South of Scotland enterprise ecosystem
  • Inspire confidence, visibility, and leadership among women in cycling
  • Deliver tangible economic and reputational benefits for the Tweed Valley and wider South of Scotland

To support delivery of the 2025 Summit, DMBinS was pleased to receive funding from South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE). Funding will support speaker fees, venue hire, delegate bursaries, event marketing, and impact reporting.

Edward Shoote, Economic Infrastructure Development Specialist, South of Scotland Enterprise said:

“We are proud to support the Women in the Bike Industry Summit as it returns to the Tweed Valley in 2025. The inaugural event clearly demonstrated the appetite for collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity across the cycling sector, and the South of Scotland is the ideal home for this growth. By backing this Summit, we are investing not only in women’s leadership and career pathways, but also in our local economy, tourism offer, and reputation as a world-class destination for cycling innovation.”

Ticket prices will remain low again this year at £25.00 for the 2 day event, with a special offer for an evening meal at a partner restaurant in Innerleithen.

With recurring demand and a proven model, the vision is to establish the Women in the Bike Industry Summit as an annual flagship event – positioning the Tweed Valley as not only a world-class riding destination, but also a hub for inclusive innovation, enterprise, and leadership in cycling.
