The three-day 2022 Scottish Mountain Bike Conference has launched its full schedule for the event taking place at P&J Live in Aberdeen.
The Scottish Mountain Bike Conference has announced its full schedule for November 3rd-5th with the 2022 event, ‘Leading the Way’, kicking off at P&J Live in Aberdeen.

Titled ‘Leading The Way’, the 3 day conference will feature several global mountain bike leaders, exciting announcements, discussion and consultation on the future of Scottish mountain biking, an update on the progress under the Scottish MTB Strategy 2019 – 2025 and debate how we create a sustainable future for mountain biking support in Scotland.
The programme for the Scottish Mountain Bike Conference 2022 has been designed to inspire, inform, challenge, and engage a Scottish, and global, mountain bike audience on the biggest opportunities and risks faced by the sector/sport today.
Hear from Scottish Government on support for our industry, 2023 Cycling World Championships on how the event has the opportunity to profile Scotland and our sport like never before and discover how the whole sector can engage and benefit from the event.
With speakers from destinations such as Bentonville, Arkansas and Trysil, Norway sharing details of how a structured programme of investment into mountain bike trail and destination development has significantly impacted the economy and the health & well-being of the regions.
There will be a presentation of new research on e-bike usage by the legend that is, Tracy Moseley, British Cycling and Edinburgh Napier University, discussing trends and the positive and negative implications going into the future, Scottish and British Cycling’s vision for the development of mountain biking in Scotland and across the UK, in depth discussions and presentations around mountain biking and mental health and so much more.
The opening day (3rd November) will focus on planning for the future for those involved in mountain biking tourism, product development, and the sustainable economic growth of the sport. An exciting line up of speakers from industry leaders to academics and sector experts will be presenting and discussing macro challenges and opportunities which are being played out on a global scale. The first day will close with a social evening with a DJ set, delicious street food options, local beverages, and an exhibition, held at the P&J.
Day two (4th November) will focus on how we sustainably grow participation in mountain biking and continue to develop a world class athlete development system. A full programme of inspirational speakers and informative workshops will be delivered during the day and the day will close with the much-anticipated Scottish MTB Awards. A chance for all to celebrate the very best of Scottish mountain biking.
The last day of the conference (5th November) will offer delegates and volunteers the opportunity to attend a variety of trail building case studies, across Aberdeenshire, to view good practice and discuss how the right trails can be built, in the right places and managed by the right people.
