The Scottish Mountain Bike Gathering will bring together the mountain bike community, industry, land managers/owners, trails associations, destinations, and the agencies that support mountain biking in Scotland. The event will provide the opportunity to discuss its future and the priorities, while connecting, learning, and sharing with each other.

The MTB Gathering will be held at one of Scotland’s best trail centres and award winning ‘green’ destination, Comrie Croft in Perthshire over two days, Thursday 5th & Friday 6th October. The greatly anticipated Scottish MTB Awards will be held on the Thursday evening.

Graeme McLean, Head of Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland (DMBinS), explains more;

“With unprecedented levels of investment into the Scottish trail network and facilities, we need to gather as a community, and a sector, to understand how we can continue to work together towards a long term sustainable and secure trail network.

The presentations and topics will have a strong focus on sustainability in all its facets including social, environmental, and the economic sustainability of mountain biking in Scotland.”

There will be the opportunity to find out more about the different Health, Diversity and Inclusion programmes across Scotland, and how the Scottish Health Fund seeks to make our nation happier and healthier and increase the diversity on our trails.”

“The final day will comprise of dig sessions and ride outs focusing on improving knowledge sharing, helping to develop our leadership network, and more opportunities to engage practically with programmes from across Scotland. We are delighted to be working with Comrie Croft to deliver a high quality, sustainable event to suit all budgets.”

Andrew Donaldson, Founder of Comrie Croft said;

“We are excited to be working with DMBinS to host the most sustainable and community-rooted Scottish Mountain Bike Gathering yet. It’s shaping up to be a really enjoyable learning and networking opportunity where you spend as much time outdoors, as inside.

“Alongside a relaxed vibe, we are aiming for the event to be Trash Free Trails Approved (Gold Standard), lay on sustainable and cycling transport options, and to use some amazing local businesses to provide the best of local food, drink and services. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone involved in Scottish Mountain Biking.”
