Scott’s enduro machine, the Ransom gets a new suspension layout with the shock hidden in the frame, much like its smaller stablemates.
Hidden within the new Scott Ransom frame is a 170mm travel 6-bar link, you can run it 29er or Mullet and you get a choice of full carbon fibre or composite frames.
Much like its smaller brethren, the Scott Ransom has been updated to integrate the shock within the frame. This includes a new 170mm travel 6-bar linkage for their new enduro machine. This new link is aimed at providing the best of all worlds in terms of descending and climbing prowess.
The leverage curve has been tuned to offer supple suspension off the top before ramping up into the bigger hits, anti-rise is consistent to provide support under braking whilst anti-squat is higher in the climbing gears, dropping off lower in the block to reduce pedal kick. You also get the Scott NUDE suspension in three modes; Climb, Ramp Control and Descend. This also adjusts travel between 130 and 170mm on the shock.
Frames are either full carbon or carbon front, alloy rear. Head angles are adjustable with both a flip chip and supplied headset cups, with the flip chip also offering Mullet wheel capability, although the bikes come 29er as standard. Dropper insertion has been increased over the previous Ransom too. The frame includes an integrated sag indicator, as well as a hatched access to the shock for damping adjustments and the downtube has frame storage included as well.

Head angles remain broadly similar to the outgoing Ransom but you get more adjustibility. 63.8 degrees +/- 0.6 degrees with the various flip chip and headset cup options. Seat tubes have been clipped, with the Medium losing 30mm. With seat tube angles steeping by over two degrees, though angles are size specific on the new model. Chainstays grow by 2.1mm.
The Ransom range is four models strong. Three Ransom models and a Contessa Ransom. The Ransom 900 RC tops the range at £9,799.00 with the Ransom 930 at the bottom at £5,099.00. The Contessa Ransom comes in at £7,799.00, the same as the Ransom 910.
