There’s a fair bit to talk about when it comes to the new Formula Nebbia… The positive (main) air spring is designed to work at a lower pressure, putting less stress on the seals and in turn, improving reliability. This also helps with breakaway force as a lot of stiction comes from the under pressure seals working against the movement of the main shaft.
A hybrid coil and air negative spring combined with their bladder oil reservoir also aims to improve that butter feeling off the top. The Compression Tuning System also allows for fine tuning of the feel. Formula’s Neopos air volume tokens also allow you to tune mid and end stroke without the associated harshness involved with traditional spacers. A three-position compression switch also helps with climbing and traversing before going to open for the descents.
Clip-in spacers allow you to adjust the shock stroke, meaning that you don’t need to buy a new shock, just adjust the stroke with spacers. No specialist tools required. Minor services are also specialist tool-free and can be done at home. As with all post-2017 Formula products, the Nebbia will be backed by Formula’s Year Support Promise with further lengthens the legs of this shock.
