Four years after releasing their Stumpjumper and Stumpjumper EVO, the new Specialized Stumpjumper 15 blends the two into a new bike.
Specialized have thrown their Stumpy an Stumpy EVO into the pot and added a sprinkle of GENIE plus some other spices to create the Stumpjumper 15.

Specialized have gone back to the drawing board with the new Sumpjumper 15 with almost everything receiving a tickle with the update wand. Immediately obvious is the lack of the asymmetric swingarm that used to typify the Stumpjumper line-up. A fresh layup of the Fact 11mm carbon frame facilitated this.
The new Stumpy retains the six-way geometry adjust by way of the top headset cup and rear pivot flip chip. Replaceable links give the option of running the bike as a full 29er or in a Mullet configuration. Sizes S1 and S2 come stock as Mullets with S3 through S6 as full 29ers.
GENIE is the biggest noise surrounding the new Stumpjumper 15 though, with claims that it offers all the pros of both air and coil shocks. This is achieved by running a shock with two positive air chambers. This provides a more linear feel to the first 70% of the available 145mm travel, but once into the last 30%, one chamber closes, leading to a ramp in progression.

It’s claimed that the Stumpjumper 15 offers 16.3% better bump absorption than the outgoing Stumpy EVO by using more travel for a given impact force, this is along with 57% more traction and 39% fewer severe bottom outs. Both air chambers are tuneable with air volume spacers to get it running just how you like it too. Anti-squat sits between the outgoing Stumpys, starting at around 113% in the top cog and falling to 78%.
Four complete bikes and a frame will be available. The Stumpjumper 15 S-Works tops the range at £10,000.00 with the Stumpjumper 15 Expert coming in at £6,000.00. The frame, complete with a Fox Float Factory GENIE shock will be £4,000.00.
Geometry
The Stumpjumper 15 is available in sizes S1 through S6.
Reach on the S3 in mid headtube and high BB setting is 450mm with a seat tube of 405mm. Head angle is 64.5 degrees with a seat tube angle of 77 degrees. Chainstays are 435mm with a wheelbase of 1213mm.
